Dr. Sangita Patel is a distinguished academician serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. With over 25 years of teaching experience, she holds a Ph.D., M.Phil., and a Master’s degree in Sociology, along with a B.Ed. in Social Science and Gujarati.

A recognized Ph.D. guide at Gujarat University, Dr. Patel has made significant contributions to the field of Sociology. She is the author of 6 books and has published 21 research papers in reputed journals. Her academic interests and research span across Gender Sociology, Urban Sociology, Sociology of Literature, and large-scale survey studies.

Dr. Patel has successfully completed one UGC Minor Research Project and three Major Projects funded by renowned organizations including UNICEF, ICSSR, and the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd. (TCGL). She has also completed the UGC–SWAYAM MOOC on Social Thinkers – II and has served as a Coordinator for four online Refresher Courses in Social Sciences organized by UGC–HRDC, Gujarat University.

An active academic contributor, she has been a resource person for numerous Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), Refresher Courses, Seminars, and Workshops conducted in both online and offline formats.
